This noble spirit made from fresh, single-origin ginger rounded off with fresh lemongrass, impresses with its lemon note with a full-bodied, gentle ginger spiciness. The finish is lasting and fruity. The GINGER No. 1 creates a pleasant taste experience with a persistent finish on the palate.

Gut Bärenhof is located in the Straubing / Bogen district in a climatic health resort in the front Bavarian Forest near Neukirchen.


The term "grounded" probably finds its best use in everything that is done at Gut Bärenhof. The love in and to detail is reflected in the meticulous craftsmanship in the fine brandy manufacture with innovative fine liqueurs and fine brandies.


Under the motto "Only the dead fish swims with the flow", the brandy manufacturer founded in 2012 has set its mark on the future with product innovation. There was never even the slightest idea of ​​taking up and producing the tradition from the Bavarian Forest with products such as barwort or bloodroot. The origin is of course the homeland, as well as the fruits of the region and the farm such. For example, to process quinces, rose hips, sloes and elderberries into precious treasures.


However, since Wilhelm Marx has a lot of experience and a great affinity to many countries in Asia through his numerous professional trips to Asia, it was obvious for him to import one of the basic food products, ginger, with all its health components, and to process it carefully.


So the GINGERLIQ was in the manufactory from the Bavarian Forest. and the GINGER No.1 was born and manifested. In addition to this naivety, of course, it takes a bit of paranoid ideas to believe that ginger products are produced in the Bavarian Forest and try to market them in Europe and above all in Asia.


As a result, Wilhelm Marx took part in November 2014 at the Wine & Spirits in Hong Kong with his own booth. The success and the interest were unimaginable for the small distillery from nowhere! Thus, the cornerstone of the idea for successful marketing was, among other things. placed in Asia.


Due to the processing of the products using only fresh ginger, without flavors, colors or preservatives, the products impress in character, freshness, sharpness and wellbeing with the components that fresh ginger brings with it.


In 2015, this obviously meant that the products were awarded gold and silver when they first participated in the Destillata, a European award for spirits. In April 2015, the GINGER No.1 was also awarded the gold medal at "The Global Spirits Master Award" in London.

In order to harmonize the squaring of the circle with the products, Wilhelm Marx originally completed a burner training course in 2012 at the University of Hohenheim. Due to the positive development and the enormous feedback on the products of the manufactory, the aim must be to develop daily with one's tasks and knowledge. Wilhelm Marx therefore enrolled at the University of Weihenstephan for training as a brandy sommelier in December 2014 and successfully completed this training in March 2015.
